Florida CHIP Program: Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program
Did You Know?
If you are eligible for health coverage from your employer, but are unable to afford the premiums, some States have premium assistance programs that can help pay for coverage.
These States use funds from their
Medicaid or
CHIP programs to help people who are eligible for employer-sponsored health coverage, but need assistance in paying their health premiums.
If a group health plan provides benefits for medical care directly (such as through a health maintenance organization) or through insurance, reimbursement, or in some other way to participants, beneficiaries, or providers in any state listed by DOL, the plan is required to provide the Employer CHIP Notice, regardless of the employer’s location or principal place of business (or the location or principal place of business of the group health plan, its administrator, its insurer, or any other service provider affiliated with the employer or the plan). There is no size requirement.
If you live in
Florida, you may be eligible for assistance paying for your employer health plan premiums.
You should contact your State for further information on eligibility.
